Thanks for everything

hanika-50-mc-custom2

Hi Nicholas:

The guitar [Hanika 50MC] arrived safely on friday; … I’m rather happy with it, it’s great to have the possibility to easily change the action [with the 2 saddle option] and the C-1 profile [option] is great, I feel very very comfortable while playing (I just need to change the trebles to hard tension and that’s it).  Now the next step would be to get a CutPro PF RECITAL LINE, so I’ll get to you again as soon as I can (after summer probably); one more question though: what would be the aproximate waiting times for that model with changes in configuration (scale length, saddle, neck profile, pickup maybe)?

All the best and many thanks for everything

Hanika Neck-to-Body Joint

Do Hanika guitars have truss rods? Or are they built like Spanish guitars? Or something else…?

PM, USA, 6th April 2021

They don’t have truss rods – although the necks are reinforced for stability; the neck is not joined to the body in a “Spanish Heel” so the answer is “something else”.

The body is fitted with a neck block which is rebated in 3 dimensions to take the heel extension and the block attached to the underside of the fingerboard. Here are a couple of pictures –

Incidently, you can see the neck reinforcement – in this model a rectangular cross section piece of ebony – running down the back of the neck and into the heel extension.
