The domed soundboard is made of ultra thin, very high quality European spruce sealed with a thin layer of natural varnish to keep it light and responsive. It has Hanika’s own-design, lattice bracing system .
In keeping with the steady move to replace endangered or scarce tropical hardwoods with native-European and sustainable species, the 58EF-N is built without using any of the hardwoods on the CITES endangered list. All woods are European and sustainable. The back and sides are made from thermo-modified chequers wood. The neck is thermo-modified cherry reinforced with chequers wood. The matching headstock is also chequers wood. The fingerboard is from thermo-modified plum wood.
The back and sides are finished in a high gloss acrylic lacquer.
